Archivi affettivi / Affective archives Vercelli, 11-12th November 2010 Turin, November 13th, 2010 Archivi affettivi / Affective archives is an international conference and an artistic event created and curated by Marco Pustianaz (Università del Piemonte Orientale, Vercelli), Annalisa Sacchi (Università di Bologna), Giulia Palladini (Università di Pisa). It will be hosted by Università del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro” in Vercelli. It is the first PSi event organized in Italy.
Archivi affettivi / Affective archives aims to promote the interaction between artists and scholars by experimenting a dialogue based on a shared issue: how to transmit and communicate the shape and emotion of the encounter with an artwork? In what terms can an “affective archive” be conceived, designed, carried out? From these questions the artists Claudia Castellucci/Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio, Massimo Bartolini, Cesare Pietroiusti and Lois Weaver have devised a performative frame in order to characterize in a unique and memorable way each of the four panels, distributed over two days of conference and taking place in various spaces in Vercelli (the Crypt of St. Andrew’s; the 1930’s open-air ENAL Swimming Pool; the historical Salone Dugentesco). In addition to the curators, the following will be present: Rebecca Schneider (Brown University, USA), Maaike Bleeker (University of Utrecht, Netherlands), Marin Blaževic (University of Zagreb, Croatia), Viviana Gravano (Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan), Joe Kelleher (Roehampton University, London, UK), Alan Read (King’s University College, London, UK), Alessandra Violi (Università di Bergamo), Valentina Valentini (Università “La Sapienza”, Rome), Heike Roms (University of Aberystwith, UK), Jurgita Staniškyt (Vytautas Magnus University, Vilnius, Lithuania), Aleksandra Jovievi (Università “La Sapienza”, Rome), Susanne Franco (Università di Salerno), Fabrizio Deriu (Università di Teramo). Finally, on Saturday 13th November and in collaboration with the Festival Prospettiva 2 (http://prospettiva.teatrostabiletorino.it/), an open forum will be held at the conference hall of Teatro Gobetti in Turin, on the following theme: “Being with: praxis and politics of shared creativity”.
