Editors: Anette Grønning (University of Southern Denmark), Anders Horsbøl (Aalborg University)
Submission deadline: FEBRUARY 1, 2012.
Publication deadline: Fall 2012.
Media technologies play a central role in workplace communication and organisational practices. This issue addresses the ways in which the introduction of (new) media technology contributes to reconfiguring organisational practices. We invite scholars to reflect on the ways in which organisation members appropriate and domesticate media in their everyday workplace communication, whether internal or external, and whether in public or commercial domains. Scholars are invited to focus on the latest media technologies or on the role of media of all kinds in new workplace practices. Concrete empirical analyses as well as methodological and theoretical discussions are welcome. We invite contributions from different approaches within media and organisational studies such as – to mention but a few – science and technology studies, actor network theory, multimodal and mediated discourse analysis, interpretive organisational studies, studies of (re)mediation and medium theory.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• new or modified (co)writing and (co)reading practices, as well as other multimodal semiotic practices
• redeployment of time and space affected by remediations of organisational communication, such as the reconfiguration of workplace timescales and the coupling between activities at different timescales
• notions of genre chains, recontextualisation and resemiotisation in order to understand how new media influence the flow of discourse across different sites, modes and media in and around the workplace
• remediation of social relations (organisationally internal and external) in general, and the distribution of resources, different kinds of capitals and power structures in particular
• relations between the introduction of (new) media and the emergence or stabilisation of different forms of professionalism, professional communication and interprofessional communication

Basics of Audio Production for Producers, Project Managers & Broadcast Engineers – Eyes & Ears Academy on 7 & 8 July 2011 at PLAZAMEDIA in Ismaning
June 21, 2011 | Posted by Jesper Steen Andersen | Category: events other-news

“The moment of creation is not necessarily the moment of decision; this would prevent the adventure of discovering new sounds”, says sound designer David Sonnenschein. But what is the key to an auditory creation and production in the audiovisual area? Which filmic tools and creative possibilities are used to produce audio tracks nowadays? What should be considered while creating an audio design? Good audiovisual productions are not just convincing because of their images, but also due to an elaborated mixture of music, sounds and voices. The integral effect of the audiovisual experience is more than simply combining images and sounds.
This two-day event organised by Eyes & Ears of Europe and PLAZAMEDIA offers an overview of the basics of hearing, as well as the acoustics
of hearing and psychoacoustics. Furthermore, the techniques of audio design, including practical demonstrations of shapes of sounds, will be presented. Beyond that, historical and conceptual sound design in audio visual media will be adressed.

On the Loose – Sandberg i frit fald
